One of my favorite scenes. This was painted en plein air originally. I didn't care for the original sky and foreground, and finished it in the studio. When the sun sets in Terlingua, people look east, toward the Chisos Mountains. The mountains light up a delightful shade of red, with subtle blues and pinks highlighting the vista.
